British analytical magazine Economist
reviewed 140 cities and made the ration of the most appropriate cities for life in the world. Making the rating of cities, the Economist took into account political stability, health care, quality education and the environment. For all these indicators Australian city Melbourne was voted the best city to live, for the first time ahead of Vancouver, which had been named the best earlier.
European cities were also added in the list of best cities to live. Vienna won 3rd place in the list. Of the 140 cities included in the rating the least fit cities are recognized: the capital of Zimbabwe - Harare and the city of Dhaka in Bangladesh. This year London took just 53 place on the list, significantly reducing his positions.
As the representatives of the magazine Economist say this year places in the ranking of cities greatly were influenced by the political unrest around the world, shoked Cairo, Tripoli, and even a quiet city like London. Because of the civil war in Libya, Tripoli was removed from the list this year. Due to the fact that many of the cities, previously participated in the ranking this year have been excluded from it, many Australian cities managed to get on the list, and even lead it.
Representatives of the Economist also noted that now it’s good time to buy real estate in Australia. Because of the economic crisis, property prices in Australia fell by an average of 4%. And new homes in Australia are considered the largest and livable in the world.
